Mary Stanley is an emerging editor and fiction writer from the Illawarra in Australia. Mary writes fiction in a variety of genres, however, she considers herself to predominantly be an SF and horror writer. For some time now, she has been working toward completing her first novel, the post-apocalyptic thriller ‘In the Shadow of the Sun’. She will undoubtedly be distracted by beginning a thriller novella for her major work in university, and later, an unnamed short story anthology, both of which centre on the Macedonian community and family as she has experienced it.

Mary is set to graduate from a Bachelor of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong in 2017. She has attended the Creative Writing Summer School at the University of Cambridge in August 2016 and the International Summer School—Creative Writing Program at the University of East Anglia in June/July 2017. She likes to think she will do a Masters, or maybe she’ll try for a PHD, but she’s not fooling herself.

Mary has been the Media and Marketing intern for the South Coast Writers Centre since December 2016. In May 2017, she was part of the Production Crew for the theatre show ‘Bridge Works’ at the Phoenix Theatre. Bridge Works featured six short plays submitted by emerging young playwrights and provided a space for performance and theatre students to showcase their talents. There are whispers of a Halloween show that she is helping organise, a show for which she will finally submit a script and exercise her directorial skills.
